What’s new in the world of books and reading and stuff:

Holly still wants a Kindle Fire for Christmas, New Year’s, Thursday, whatever. My poor regular Kindle, as well as my archives on Amazon, are filled to bursting. Naturally, they keep sending me “helpful” emails about price drops. That is not much help when one doesn’t have two nickels to rub together.

I did get an Amazon Local deal – $1 for a full price Kindle book off their select list. I jumped all over my Wishlist, and found one I was REALLY wanting that was on their list. Whee!

Now I need to get #2 and #3 in the series. I will start reading this one as soon as I am done with The Books of Rachel and the companion book The Lives of Rachel. Very very good so far, well researched and all that.

I’m alsoworking on reading some books about blogging – to improve the experience here on Intellectually Promiscuous, and about how to work this WordPress thingie in general. Also on tap are a couple of books about minimalism, since I definitely need to focus back on what is most important in my life.

Of course, my stash of sci-fi, historical fiction, paranormal, and smut just continues to grow exponentially. I am starting a library of Wicca and Pagan stuff, too, as they become available in the free department. At this point, I would have to read a book a day for 10 years straight to get through them all – luckily many are short stories or novellas. I’m not sure how I feel about those yet.

In any case, read, read and more read. Even the kids at juvenile detention read everything we put in front of them on the book cart, and beg for more. Thank goodness the local library provides us with a paperback program. Now you know what happens to the paperbacks you donate! I think we have every James Patterson book ever printed at work.

Back to reading and growing my brain!
